It took a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once I did I’m addicted. It helps me target my weight loss, and track things I want to limit. I even just started one to track how many hours I can gain of productivity by waking up earlier than my normal awake time. Some people don’t need the motivation, but other people like me who love seeing the big picture thrive on data projection. Having a finite number of days before I’m off my goal and early warnings when it’s slipping is worth the commitment. Beeminder allows you to create four or so goals before require a pledge of $5. But the pledge only is charged if you get off your goal. And there are warnings! Also you can plan for events in your life and change the rate of the goal, but only a week in advance, so you don’t weasel out the day before just because you feel like it. Super cool website and app!
